Last week I booked my flights to Bishkek, and this week I learned that I would be living in Chaek, a village in the Jumgal Valley. Chaek isn’t far from the relatively inaccessible Lake Son Kul, which looks beautiful. Needless to say I have spent a lot of time admiring the scenery and perusing guidebooks over the past few days!
After months of discussion, this volunteering trip is finally moving forward, so be prepared for a few more posts and updates as I learn more information about where I’m going and what’s expected of me.
I can’t believe I’m going to Kyrgyzstan!
